Integrated access control and security manufacturer TDSi by Hirsch has released GARDiS version 3.3, a major update to its access control software platform that introduces new intruder integrations, simplified credential administration and enhanced security controls and data governance.

The release is designed to make access control and integrated security management easier to use and administer for security teams while adding new functionality across the platform.

“GARDiS 3.3 is an important milestone for our customers,” said Tina Pemberton, Director SMB Software at TDSi by Hirsch. “These updates make the platform faster, simpler and even more secure, while opening the door to powerful new integrations such as Ajax intruder management.”

Intruder management integration

GARDiS 3.3 integrates with Ajax Intruder Cloud, allowing hubs, devices and groups to be discovered and viewed within the GARDiS platform. Authorized users can view status changes and arm, disarm or manage bypass settings without moving between separate systems.

Intruder panels, zones and groups can also be incorporated into Cause & Effect rules to support consistent routine responses and reduce manual intervention.

For applications where direct panel integration is unavailable, the GARDiS controller can now provide basic intruder functionality through its own outputs, providing an option for simpler applications within the existing GARDiS environment.

Simplified credential administration

The update introduces a redesigned credential model centered on a universal “Card or Fob” type that works across virtually all reader and card technologies. The approach removes the need for administrators to select and match credentials to specific decode types.

Existing credentials are migrated automatically during upgrades and can be verified before changes are applied. Biometric credentials and IP lock whitelisting are also included in the unified approach.

According to TDSi by Hirsch, the changes are intended to make credential management more consistent while reducing training requirements, configuration errors and the time required for common administrative tasks.

Expanded security and information controls

GARDiS 3.3 adds configurable password rules, banned-word lists and automatic account lockout to support login security. New event dashboard permissions control access to live and archived events, while organization-based filtering helps limit user access to information related to people they are authorized to manage.

The release also provides additional controls for sensitive reports. Saved reports can be kept private to their creator or shared with designated users.

Performance and platform refinements

Additional updates include more flexible event management controls, clearer messaging and email validation, enhanced Active Directory monitoring and refinements to user identification and access-level handling.

The platform also introduces faster bulk database updates and message-queue handling for larger systems. People and credential exports now include organization and department information, while simplified Chinese has been added as a selectable interface language.

Compatibility enhancements include support for the latest STid V3 mobile credential API, native support for 32-bit Wiegand readers and credentials, and the ability to configure OSDP readers as In/Out readers. DigiTouch readers are now free to license, and the platform has moved to .NET 10 to support installation and upgrade processes.

As TDSi adopts the Hirsch name, the company said customers will continue to receive specialist knowledge, responsive support and established products, supported by the wider capabilities of the Hirsch Group.
