HES electric strikes from the 5000, 5300, 8000 and 8300 Series now carry ANSI/SDI 250.13 windstorm certification following an engineering redesign.

HES, an ASSA ABLOY Opening Solutions brand, has announced a new windstorm certification for its 5000, 5300, 8000 and 8300 Series electric strikes. According to the company, the products now carry an ANSI/SDI 250.13 certified rating.

The company says the certification reflects an engineering redesign that enables the electric strikes to meet windstorm and impact requirements without requiring changes to the installation process. With the new rating, the 5000, 5300, 8000 and 8300 Series can be used across a broader range of door security applications.

HES states that the electric strikes are widely used in the market and that the updated certification provides added performance, versatility and reliability. The company says the certification is intended to give architects, installers and integrators added confidence in long-term durability and certified protection.

According to the company, the update continues its electric strike portfolio’s alignment with evolving security and safety standards.
