Overhead Door Corp. has acquired the assets of Motion Access, an Elk Grove Village, Illinois-based provider of automatic pedestrian door solutions.

Motion Access will continue operating under its existing name as part of Horton Automatics, the premium access brand of Horton Pedestrian Access Solutions, a division of Overhead Door Corp.

Motion Access specializes in automatic door operators, replacement parts, retrofit solutions and rebuilt equipment. The company serves automatic door professionals across North America.

Overhead Door Corp. said the acquisition strengthens Horton’s aftermarket and service capabilities while expanding its product offering.

Motion Access owners Joseph Madden, Robert Oakley, Gilbert Valencia and Michael Valencia said joining Horton provides a long-term home for the business while creating new opportunities for employees and customers.

Horton Pedestrian Access Solutions operates the Horton Automatics and WonDoor brands and serves a range of specialty door and access applications. The business has multiple manufacturing and service locations and more than 200 distribution partners across North America.

Lewisville, Texas-based Overhead Door Corp. provides door and access solutions for residential, commercial, institutional and industrial applications. The company serves more than 4,500 professional distribution partners and is a subsidiary of Sanwa Holdings Corp. of Tokyo.
