LAS VEGAS, Nevada, April 10, 2024 — Underscoring its determination to provide small businesses with radically simplified access control, quality, and versatility, Centrios is debuting a smart reader and cylindrical lock at ISC West today as part of its access control platform. Centrios is a new business within ASSA ABLOY that was founded specifically to provide small businesses in North America with advanced mobile-first access control solutions.

“The Centrios access control platform is designed and built to be one less thing that small businesses need to think about,” says Bryan Lieberman, General Manager, Centrios. “Each component is specifically engineered to facilitate the workflow of small businesses and eliminate the pain points they typically encounter. Our hardware, including the cylinder lock and smart reader, is an extension of the platform value proposition.”

The Centrios Smart Reader

The Centrios Smart Reader enables users to unlock virtually any door with electrified hardware from the perimeter to the core of a small business. The Smart Reader is an optimal access control solution for storefronts, employee entrances, storerooms, gates, offices, automatic doors, and access control retrofits.

The Smart Reader can be paired with other electronic access control systems, features Bluetooth mobile access and PIN code management which can be managed with the Centrios mobile app, and is easily installed and operated. The new Centrios Smart Reader is IP65 weather resistant, FCC/IC certified, ADA compliant, and operates in temperatures ranging from -40º to 140º F (-40º to 60º C).

Centrios offers bundled kits to make purchasing convenient and hassle-free for small business owners. Each bundle includes a Smart Reader and various access control components depending on the type of hardware required. Examples of what can be selected include electric strikes from HES and Adams Rite, power supply from Securitron, no touch request to exit switch from Alarm Controls, and Securitron DPS.
