Dortronics Expands Interlock Portfolio with 48500-Z PLC Controller

Dortronics has introduced the 48500-Z PLC Interlock Controller, a single-board solution designed to manage interlocking configurations for two to five doors across one or two zones.

The controller can operate two independent interlocks and is field-configurable without the need for software. Installers can set parameters for door control, alarm response, security levels and interlock overrides directly at the unit. The system also supports traffic light indicators and violation alarms.

The 48500-Z Series integrates with access control systems and supports a range of door types. It can monitor external threat detection devices, including tailgate alarms, metal detectors and duress alarms, allowing guard personnel to initiate lockdown procedures for selected doors when required.

Controllers can be paired to expand coverage to up to 10 doors across one to four zones, with the ability to share doors between zones in more complex configurations.

The platform is designed for environments where controlled entry sequencing is critical, including airlocks, clean rooms, sally ports, data centers, schools, jewelry stores and cash handling areas.
