Genetec Expands Security Center SaaS With Enhanced Access Control Capabilities

Unified physical security software. As a service.
Genetec Inc. has announced a series of access control enhancements to its Security Center SaaS platform, aimed at simplifying daily operations for security teams while giving organizations greater flexibility as they modernize their systems.
The updates introduce a redesigned front desk experience, quicker access to core security tasks, expanded intrusion panel support, and optional biometric capabilities. The enhancements are designed to operate without requiring disruptive infrastructure changes, allowing organizations to modernize at their own pace.
According to Francis Lachance, Senior Director of Product at Genetec Inc., the platform is intended to remove the friction associated with traditional upgrade cycles while maintaining architectural flexibility. He said Security Center SaaS enables organizations to scale and adapt without disrupting existing systems or compromising control.
Unified Front Desk Experience Enhances Visitor Management
The new front desk experience brings visitor check-in and access workflows together in a single cloud-based interface. This allows front desk personnel to manage both scheduled and walk-in visits while applying access policies that govern how visitors are granted entry.
Visitor screening rules can be applied during check-in to verify individuals against external databases and registries. When a match or exception is identified, predefined actions such as notifying security staff can be triggered immediately.
This approach is suited for environments including schools, healthcare facilities, and corporate offices that require consistent visitor management. By separating front desk operations from security policy enforcement, organizations can reduce manual processes and maintain clearer oversight across locations.
Expanded Hardware Support and Biometric Integration
Security Center SaaS is designed with an open architecture that allows organizations to integrate existing access control and intrusion hardware into the cloud without a full system replacement. Genetec Cloudlink appliances support this approach by enabling organizations to retain control over their infrastructure and modernization timeline.
The platform now includes broader intrusion support for Radionix, formerly Bosch, and Honeywell systems, with DMP support expected to follow. In addition, a new integration with SAFR SCAN enables high-assurance facial authentication. This capability offers a faster and more secure method of authentication while reducing reliance on physical credentials such as cards or badges.
Availability and Industry Showcase
The new front desk experience is available immediately to all Security Center SaaS users. Expanded intrusion support is currently available for Honeywell Galaxy intrusion panels, with DMP support scheduled for release by June 2026. The SAFR biometrics integration is also expected to be available by June 2026.
Genetec will showcase the latest version of Security Center SaaS at ISC West 2026.
