Talkaphone’s EZinfo™ Conversational AI transforms an emergency communication station into an interactive resource for information, wayfinding and assistance.

Talkaphone announced EZinfo™ Conversational AI, powered by Whoo, a solution that combines emergency communication with conversational assistance for everyday needs. The technology will make its public debut at APTA TRANSform & EXPO 2026, Oct. 5–7 in Chicago.

Talkaphone said EZinfo™ Conversational AI builds on its emergency call stations by adding natural conversations, real-time information and support in more than 40 languages. The company said the technology can provide travelers with emergency assistance as well as answers to everyday questions.

Transportation hubs are a primary application for the technology, including airports, train stations, subway systems and bus terminals. These environments bring together large numbers of people who may need directions, information or assistance in different languages.

Passengers can use EZinfo™ by pressing the station and asking questions. The system can provide step-by-step wayfinding across stations, platforms, exits, connecting lines and accessible routes. It can also answer questions about schedules, service delays, ticketing, facility hours and lost and found while providing multilingual assistance.

According to Talkaphone, the technology can extend the usefulness of emergency communication endpoints beyond emergency situations by helping travelers navigate complex transit environments while reducing routine questions handled by transit personnel.

“Emergency call stations are already highly visible, trusted points of communication throughout transit environments,” said Steve Johnson, Talkaphone President and CEO. “With EZinfo™ Conversational AI, we’re exploring what happens when that trusted endpoint becomes useful every day. A passenger can ask for emergency assistance when they need it, but they can also ask how to get to the right platform, where to make a connection or get an answer in their preferred language. It opens up an entirely new role for the call station.”

Arturo Falck, CEO and Founder of Whoo, said the technology is intended to provide information without requiring people to know where to go, who to ask or what app to download.

“By combining Whoo’s conversational AI with Talkaphone’s trusted communication infrastructure, we can meet people where they already are and provide immediate, intuitive assistance,” Falck said.

Talkaphone is demonstrating EZinfo™ Conversational AI in Booth 256 at McCormick Place during APTA TRANSform & EXPO 2026. The interactive demonstration simulates a passenger experience at New York City's Bowling Green station.

Attendees can ask the system transit questions such as how to get to Times Square, where to transfer for Madison Square Garden, where to purchase an OMNY Card or how to navigate to other destinations around the city.

Rather than a scripted product presentation, Talkaphone said attendees can have a natural conversation with the assistant to experience how conversational AI can expand the role of existing emergency communication infrastructure throughout a passenger's journey.

Talkaphone said EZinfo™ Conversational AI could also be used in college and university campuses, where students, visitors, prospective families and event attendees may need help navigating unfamiliar environments.

An enabled Talkaphone station could provide emergency assistance while answering questions about building locations, accessible routes, parking, campus services and events. Similar applications could allow prospective students to find admissions offices, new students to locate classrooms and sporting event visitors to find parking or entrances.

The company also identified healthcare facilities, corporate campuses, entertainment venues and large public spaces as potential environments for the technology.

By combining conversational AI with an emergency communication endpoint, Talkaphone said EZinfo™ Conversational AI brings safety, accessibility, information and everyday assistance together through a single station.
