Canada's AlarmForce sees rise in Q1 profit

Home security firm's profit rises to $680K from year-ago $566K, revenue up 21 percent

TORONTO - Home security system provider AlarmForce Industries Inc. (TSX:AF) reported Thursday a first-quarter profit $680,071, up from a year-ago $566,101 as revenues improved 21 per cent.

The Toronto-based company said earnings amounted to six cents per share, compared with five cents per share in the year-earlier period. Revenue increased to a quarterly record $7.1 million from $5.8 million.

AlarmForce makes and installs two-way voice home alarms systems in Canada the United States.

Shares in the company were untraded at $6 early Thursday on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
