Alarm Registration Law Passed in Sweetwater, Fla.

Owners will provide current contact information and $25 annual registration fee

Sweetwater city commissioners unanimously passed a new law Monday that requires businesses to register their burglar alarms with the police department.

The law is intended to make it easier for police to reach business owners when their alarms go off. The owners must provide contact information and pay a $25 annual fee.
