TORONTO Ć¢ā¬ā Already its best-selling product line in Russia and Europe, STR Inc. is introducing the Radiy-2 Series Midrange Microwave Intruder Detectors to the North American market.
Designed to continuously learn and adjust to changing weather and terrain conditions while monitoring and protecting an outdoor zone, Radiy-2 detectors operate 24/7 in open field conditions and, depending on the specific model, will protect a zone ranging from 30 to 650 feet long with a beam of between five and 16 feet wide. Radiy-2 detectors perform in temperatures ranging from -58 to 149 degrees Fahrenheit.
In addition, Radiy-2 Series Detectors are capable of detecting people walking and crawling at 0.3 to 10 yards per second with an extremely low false alarm rate.
"The robust, simple-to-install and competitively-priced Radiy-2 Series detectors are true workhorses in the field," said Eugene Gerstein, STR's managing director. They provide an excellent first line of defense for protecting parking lots, warehouses, hospitals, marinas or any other site that requires maximum perimeter security."
Based on high-quality Russian military technology, Radiy-2 Series detectors provide true microwave intrusion detection in a small (6.3"x4.5"x1.7"), lightweight (0.77 pounds) and vandal- and sabotage-resistant package. Radiy-2 Microwave Intruder Detectors are resistant to rain, snow, solar radiation, wind speeds of up to 67 miles per hour, surface irregularities of 1 foot or less, grass height up to 1 foot and snow height of up to 1.6 feet (without additional adjustments).
The Radiy-2 Series complements STR's high-end, volumetric and mobile microwave perimeter protection devices, which have been installed in hundreds of locations throughout North America, including car dealerships, factories, lumber yards and even private residences. As is the case with all of the company's products, the Radiy-2 Series is easy to install. STR is distributed via Tri-Ed, Anixter, Alarmax, SGI and while being a PSA Security Network-approved vendor, also offers training and technical support to ensure that dealers and installers have everything they need.
