GE Security Increases Factory Capacity for Intrusion Products

Individual factory capacities increased between 10-20 percent to meet demand

BRADENTON, FLA. - GE's Security business (NYSE: GE) today announced that factory initiatives to increase manufacturing capacity at critical plants around the world have produced increased shipments to dealers for the third month in a row.

"We understand that servicing our customers with timely deliveries is every bit as important as leveraging the best technologies to create superior product solutions," said Jim Paulson, GE Security General Manager, Commercial and Residential Solutions. "We underwent expansions at our factories earlier this year to meet our growing dealer demand for residential and commercial intrusion products."

At GE's plant in Hickory, NC, an additional 15 percent more manufacturing people have been hired and are on the job with an additional 10 percent people added in Tualatin, Ore. Factories in Navojoa, Sonora, Mexico and Shanghai, China have increased capacity 20 percent. To handle the increase in orders and shipping, the Customer Service Department has added 15 percent more people, all available to answer and respond to customer phone inquiries at GE's toll-free 888-GE SECURITY number.
