CVS, Rainbow Apparel and Luxottica Group Purchases PROTECT Smoke Cannon
ORLANDO, Fla. -- PROTECT Security Systems of America has introduced three retail chains that will adopt its Smoke Cannon(tm) to prevent burglaries. The announcement was made at PROTECT's official product launch Tuesday at the ASIS International 51st Annual Seminar and Exhibits at the Orange County Convention Center.
CVS Corporation, with 5,400 pharmacies in 35 states; New York-based Rainbow Apparel Co. - USA, Inc., operator of 1,000 Junior, Plus Size and Children's fashion stores; and Luxottica Group, North America's largest optical retailer with 5,500 locations, will be among the first major retailers in the Western Hemisphere to implement PROTECT within their security systems. PROTECT effectively closes the gap between alarm activation and alarm response, a valuable asset to businesses vulnerable to "smash and grab" theft.
"This will keep burglars out of our stores, protecting our merchandise and preventing damage to costly store fixtures," said John Feretich, Rainbow Apparel Company's Director of Loss Prevention. "PROTECT is an outstanding addition to our security resources."
"I am initially interested and excited to study this product's performance in our fashion sunglass shops because it will actually stop a burglary, can be monitored by our existing alarm system and won't damage the product or electronic equipment," said Alan Greggo, Senior Director of Loss Prevention, Retail, of Luxottica Group. "This is a cutting edge product for retailers in the jewelry and boutique specialty businesses."
"One of our goals is to prevent thefts from happening in the first place," said David St. Angelo, Loss Prevention Physical Security Manager for CVS. "Our store managers are enthusiastic about the fact that the PROTECT product has an unblemished record of driving burglars away and preventing incidents of losses."
With today's announcement and an earlier announcement concerning the United States' largest retail shoe chain, PROTECT launches its product in the U.S. to a potential 18,500 sites.
"Working with this excellent group of partners in the North American launch of the Smoke Cannon is an exciting time for us," said PROTECT President and CEO Geof Petch. "Each is known within its niche for the excellence of its security program and for the thorough diligence used in evaluating new security approaches. We are pleased to receive their confidence in our product."
PROTECT products cut burglary losses by filling protected areas with dense but harmless clouds of fog if break-ins occur. The Smoke Cannon is easily integrated with existing burglar alarms and security systems.
