Critical Response Group (CRG) has introduced a new Map Builder tool designed to extend the use of its verified life-safety mapping data beyond emergency response into daily operations for schools and facilities.
The Map Builder enables organizations to create and manage a wide range of maps using the same underlying data that supports emergency response planning. The tool is intended to provide a consistent, shared operational view across use cases such as evacuation planning, shelter-in-place procedures, staff orientation, event coordination and facilities management.
The company said the new capability reflects demand from customers who rely on its mapping data for emergency preparedness but also require more flexible tools for day-to-day operational needs. Map Builder allows users to generate detailed maps that identify key locations and support safety planning across campuses and multi-building environments.
CRG’s mapping solutions, known as Collaborative Response Graphics, are used by law enforcement, fire, EMS and emergency communications centers to coordinate response during critical incidents. The maps are field-verified and built to national public safety standards, serving as a common operating picture for first responders.
With Map Builder, the company is positioning its mapping data as an everyday operational resource, enabling organizations to use consistent, verified information across both emergency and non-emergency scenarios.
The company said the tool supports applications including fire evacuation routes, reunification planning, campus navigation and facilities operations. It is designed to streamline map creation and improve consistency across different use cases, reducing reliance on disparate tools and outdated or manually created maps.
Map Builder is available immediately to all active CRG customers and is included as a standard feature without additional licensing or per-user fees.
CRG said it has produced more than 85,000 maps across 46 states, supporting K-12 school districts, higher education institutions, healthcare facilities, government agencies and corporate campuses.
