NAPCO Introduces StarLink Connect Tri-Carrier 5G Cellular Communicator
NAPCO Security Technologies has introduced StarLink Connect, a new tri-carrier 5G cellular communicator designed to expand the capabilities of its StarLink platform for commercial fire and intrusion applications.
According to NAPCO, the next-generation StarLink Connect Series is aimed at POTS line replacement use cases and is compatible with virtually all alarm panel brands. The communicator supports native panel up and downloading for panels from Honeywell, DSC and Napco and enables full system control through the Gemini Smart App, which is available for smartphones through Apple and Google Play.
The company said the combination allows dealers to remotely program, manage and service systems while giving end users access to virtual keypad control, system status visibility and optional SMS alerts.
Despite a lower price point, StarLink Connect features tri-carrier technology that automatically selects between AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile networks based on signal strength, with automatic failover designed to maintain reliability. The communicator is intended for new installations, upgrades, takeovers and landline replacements and supports full event reporting to any central station nationwide without requiring special receiver equipment or radio activation fees. NAPCO also said the product qualifies for an Instant Pro Rebate that is applied upon activation.
Installation is designed to be simplified through panel-powered technology that eliminates the need for an external power supply. Native bus data support enables more detailed system events, while full remote downloading is intended to help dealers shorten service calls, reduce truck rolls and accelerate project completion. Metal enclosure models are available with or without a power supply for applications that require them.
A Z-Model version adds Z-Wave device support, enabling connected IoT control and smart scenes using standard Z-Wave devices. The communicator is ETL listed and meets UL365, UL985, UL1023, UL1076 and UL1610 requirements.
NAPCO said StarLink Connect MAX2 is in stock and available through security distributors nationwide.
