ELK Products has announced the release of its new AEXCELL cellular communicator family for the Alarm Engine E27, designed to provide reliable cellular connectivity and full panel access while helping dealers reduce monthly service costs.

The AEXCELL communicators allow dealers to add cellular communication without paying separate cellular service fees. Cellular connectivity is included as part of ELK’s existing ElkConnect interactive service, which is priced at $3 per month. According to the company, this allows dealers to maintain a full IP connection with the panel without relying on additional service providers, helping reduce monthly service costs while supporting recurring revenue.

The new modules are available in two versions: the ELK-AEXCELLA for AT&T networks and the ELK-AEXCELLV for Verizon networks. Both modules connect directly to the E27 control’s RS485 bus and auto-enroll for installation. Cellular service is activated and managed through ElkConnect, providing installers with a single dashboard for system access, activation and billing.

When IP is the primary communication path, the AEXCELL communicator provides cellular backup to LAN or Wi-Fi if the internet connection is lost. The module can also operate as a cellular-only communicator, allowing dealers to support installations without an IP connection and avoid network configuration challenges.

ELK Products plans to display the new AEXCELL cellular communicators at the ISC West trade show in Las Vegas. The system will be demonstrated at the company’s booth (#8032) from March 25–27.

The AEXCELL modules are supported on Alarm Engine E27 systems running firmware version 0.6.2 or later.

The AEXCELL communicator family is currently in stock through authorized ELK distributors. The company also reminds customers to purchase only through authorized resellers to ensure warranty coverage and receive full U.S.-based support.
