Altronix has introduced ReServ24B, an automatic 24VDC transfer switch with built-in rapid battery charging to provide uninterrupted power and maximize system backup for critical security applications.
The solution supports applications where continuous power is unavailable due to power switching or where extended battery charging is required. ReServ24B supports two 24VDC power supplies and automatically transfers from the primary power input to a secondary input during a power loss to help prevent interruptions to connected systems.
When primary power is restored, ReServ24B automatically switches connected devices back to the primary source. It also uses excess available power to rapidly recharge sealed lead-acid (SLA) or lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) backup batteries, extending backup capacity and supporting continuous operation.
"Power disruptions shouldn't compromise a facility's safety or stop daily operations," said Ronnie Pennington, director of sales for the Americas at Altronix. "The ReServ24B gives integrators an easy-to-deploy solution while providing facility managers and end users peace of mind that their access control and security systems will remain online and recover quickly."
ReServ24B can be integrated into new or existing security and access control systems to optimize battery backup and improve overall system resilience.
The transfer switch also includes an Altronix LINQ Network Management Interface, which enables remote monitoring, control and reporting through the company's LINQ2 network communication module.
