Kwikset Launches Aura Reach Smart Lock With Matter and Bluetooth Connectivity
Kwikset has introduced Aura Reach, a new smart lock designed to combine Matter and Bluetooth connectivity to support flexible home access and smart home automation for DIY households.
According to the company, Aura Reach is designed to deliver connected convenience while maintaining trusted mechanical protection. The lock features hands-free auto unlock, proximity-based keypad wakeup and interactive guided installation through the Kwikset app.
Aura Reach is compatible with major Matter-enabled smart home platforms, including Amazon Alexa, Google Home and Apple Home, and works with both iPhone and Android devices. The Kwikset app provides guided onboarding and education to help users connect the lock to their preferred smart home platform. Once connected, users can control the lock remotely, trigger other devices based on lock actions and enable automations designed to support home security.
Aura Reach includes a backlit keypad that illuminates as users approach the door. Bluetooth and geofencing technology allow the door to automatically unlock for hands-free entry. The lock supports dual connectivity, enabling Bluetooth for local control or Matter connectivity over Thread for multi-platform compatibility and communication. Through the Kwikset app, homeowners can manage up to 250 unique access codes, view entry history and receive alerts for invalid code attempts.
The lock also incorporates Kwikset’s SmartKey Security technology, which allows users to rekey the lock in seconds and provides protection against advanced break-in techniques. An optional Signal Range Boost is available to double Matter network performance and improve reliability throughout the home.
Installation is guided through an interactive step-by-step process in the Kwikset app and requires only a screwdriver, according to the company.
Aura Reach features an ANSI/BHMA Grade 2 certified deadbolt and is available in Satin Nickel and Matte Black finishes. The finishes are backed by a lifetime finish warranty.
Aura Reach will be available this winter through major retailers. The new lock joins Kwikset’s existing lineup of Matter-enabled smart locks, including Halo Select and Halo Select Plus.
