Prometheus Security Group’s Digital Encrypted Security Interface (DESI)
Digital Encrypted Security Interface® (DESI) Zero Trust starts where the data is created.
Zero Trust has transformed how organizations protect users, networks and enterprise systems. But at Purdue Model Levels 0–1 — the sensors, locks, relays and field devices where security and operational data is first created — most systems still run on decades-old technology that cannot establish device identity, authenticate communications or verify the data it generates.
Attackers know it. OT and far-edge devices are increasingly targeted in attacks against critical infrastructure, where a cyber vulnerability can become a physical-world threat.
DESI closes that gap by extending Zero Trust all the way to the device.
Zero Trust at Levels 0–1 End-of-line (EOL) resistor supervision can detect a change in an electrical circuit. It cannot tell you what device caused it, whether the message is authentic, or whether the data can be trusted.
DESI can. Installed at or within inches of the field device, DESI gives previously unprotected edge devices a unique cryptographic identity, authenticated communications and verified data — before that information moves upstream to access control, intrusion detection, video, command-and-control or enterprise systems.
Trust begins at the source and follows the data to the enterprise.
Retrofit What You Have — or Build It In No rip and replace. DESI retrofits to existing analog sensors and field devices over existing wiring, so organizations can modernize without replacing installed sensors, door hardware or cabling.
For new products, manufacturers can embed the DESI chip directly as a chip-on-board solution — providing trusted device identity and authenticated communications natively from the factory. One technology secures both legacy analog and advanced digital environments, protecting installed investments while creating a path to next-generation Zero Trust physical security.
Protecting the Source, Not Just the Network
Cybersecurity platforms protect networks, applications and data once information reaches the digital environment. DESI moves the trust boundary to where the information is born.
Developed for U.S. government, defense, nuclear and critical infrastructure programs and fielded today, DESI is proven technology with U.S. Air Force Priority Level 1 Nuclear (PL1N) certification, government ATO/RMF deployments, and protection under two U.S. patents — validation earned in some of the nation’s most demanding security environments.
DESI makes the far edge the first line of trust — not the last thing anyone secures.
