Prometheus Security Group Global (PSG) announced UL certifications and listings for key components of its physical security platform, including its DESI digitally encrypted security interfaces, Universal Field Panel (UFP) hardware and LINX Predator Elite software.

The certifications cover access control, commercial premises security and product safety requirements, providing independent validation of the performance, reliability and safety of PSG technology across the physical security data path.

PSG’s architecture treats the physical security data path as a cybersecurity boundary, emphasizing the need to verify the integrity of signals originating from sensors, door hardware and other devices before they enter upstream security, automation and analytics systems.

“Achieving UL certification across our platform is an important milestone for PSG and for our customers,” said Rick Gross, CEO and co-founder of PSG. “We built our architecture around the premise that trust must begin at the source—including the physical devices at Purdue Levels 0 and 1.”

Gross said the company extends Zero Trust cybersecurity principles to physical security devices at the far edge to establish verification before data enters the broader security ecosystem.

UL Certifications Cover Access Control, Intrusion and Safety

PSG’s technology was evaluated against three UL standards covering physical security performance and product safety. The certifications and listings can be verified through UL Solutions’ Product iQ database by searching LDIA Holdings dba Prometheus Security Group Global or UL File No. BP21344.

Under UL 294, which covers access control system performance, testing evaluated destructive attack resistance, line security, endurance and standby power. The evaluation addressed the equipment’s ability to support physical access applications, resist physical and electrical tampering and continue operating during power interruptions.

The UL 294 Product iQ listing, ALVY.BP21344, covers Security Command Center (SCC), DESI-IN, DESI-R and DESI-S, UFP-EM16, UFP-EM8, UFP-GW and PM4.

Under UL 2610, which covers commercial security and burglar alarm units, testing evaluated line monitoring, signal transmission integrity, resistance to signal spoofing and fault reporting. The evaluation also addressed communications security against interception, replay attacks and line tampering.

The UL 2610 listings include AMQE.BP21344 for commercial premises security alarm units and systems, covering the SCC, DESI interfaces, UFP hardware and PM4, and UZSA.BP21344 for software receivers, covering LINX Predator Elite.

PSG hardware was also evaluated under UL 62368-1, which addresses product and electrical safety. The assessment applied Hazard-Based Safety Engineering principles to risks including electrical shock, fire, thermal hazards, power-related issues and mechanical hazards.

Together, the certifications span PSG’s architecture from far-edge devices and control hardware through command-and-control software.

“PSG technology was originally engineered for some of the nation’s highest-security environments, where reliability, resilience and the repudiation of every security event are critical,” said Jeremy Freeze-Skret, vice president of engineering and co-founder at PSG.

Freeze-Skret said the engineering foundation is now available to a broader commercial audience, with the UL certifications providing additional independent validation of the platform’s performance and resilience.

Supporting High-Security and Critical Infrastructure Deployments

For security integrators, consultants and end users, UL certification can simplify product selection and support review by Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs) for projects requiring or preferring UL-listed security equipment.

The certifications are particularly relevant to government, critical infrastructure and other high-security environments where equipment may need to meet specific UL requirements.

PSG extends Zero Trust principles beyond traditional cybersecurity controls focused on users, networks, applications and data to the physical devices where Identity of Things (IDoT) security events originate.

The company’s technology establishes cryptographic device identity, authenticates communications and verifies security signals from their source through the decision-making process.

According to PSG, its architecture can bring device identification and authentication to existing physical security environments without requiring organizations to replace existing sensors, readers, locks and wiring.

As physical security systems increasingly incorporate automation, analytics and artificial intelligence, PSG emphasizes the importance of authenticating and verifying data at its source to support reliable decisions by automated systems.
