Third Brigade named preferred provider for state hospital's needing network intrusion detection

Ottawa, ON, and Reston, VA, Thursday, June 28, 2007Ć¢ā‚¬ā€œ Third Brigade (www.thirdbrigade.com), a security software company specializing in host intrusion defense, today announced that it has been selected by the New Jersey Hospital Association (NJHA) as the preferred provider of host intrusion detection and prevention systems for New Jersey healthcare organizations. Third Brigade software will help ensure the availability of e-health systems and compliance with laws and regulations requiring privacy and security for Protected Health Information (PHI).

Under the three-year agreement, NJHA provides access to Third Brigade's software to NJHA's 112 member hospitals and other partners through NJHA's Strategic Partner Program. The preferred provider arrangement will enable the organization's members to purchase host intrusion detection and prevention software and related services through NJHA. NJHA has also elected to implement Third Brigade's software at its headquarters in Princeton, N.J., to protect its own applications, data and hosts.

"Our healthcare providers recognize the importance of staying ahead of the latest threats and implementing security best practices to protect their critical e-health systems," said Joseph Carr, CIO of NJHA. "With its recent successes, Third Brigade has established itself as a market leader for host intrusion detection and prevention in healthcare. After reviewing Third Brigade, we understood why so many organizations are choosing their software. We're pleased to be able to offer Third Brigade's security software to our members and other partners."

Third Brigade Deep Security (www.thirdbrigade.com/product.aspx?id=48 ) brings proven network security approaches, including firewall and intrusion detection and prevention, down to individual computers and devices. It shields vulnerabilities in Windows, Solaris, Linux and other Unix operating systems, as well as enterprise and Web applications common to healthcare providers.

"The full support of the New Jersey Hospital Association, along with our success in winning top healthcare organizations, establishes the leadership of Third Brigade in the New Jersey area," said Wael Mohamed, President and CEO of Third Brigade. "NJHA members can easily take advantage of this exclusive arrangement and purchase our host intrusion detection and prevention system, and related professional services. This preferred provider arrangement with NJHA is an excellent opportunity for New Jersey healthcare organizations to be proactive in ensuring their electronic health/medical records and other medical and administrative systems are properly secured from cyber attacks."
