Tariq Ahmed joins Lancope

Ahmed appointed managing director of EMEA at IT security firm

ATLANTA, October 29, 2012 – Lancope, Inc., a leader in flow-based security and network performance monitoring, announces the appointment of Tariq Ahmed as Managing Director of EMEA and International. Based in London, Tariq brings to his new role more than 25 years of technology sales experience and 16 years in the information security sector with companies including Check Point and Cisco Systems. His strong background in sales, business development and strategic partnerships across EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) and Emerging Markets will help Lancope significantly expand its international channel and revenue base.

Previously, Tariq spent six years at Cisco Systems, serving in various roles including Security Sales Business Development Manager for both Northern Europe and Emerging Markets theatres. Throughout his tenure, he grew sales in Northern Europe by 32 percent year over year, and helped to increase the Emerging Markets contribution to 27 percent of global revenue. During his last 16 months with the company, he was tasked with developing Cisco’s Borderless Networks strategy, owning both internal interactions and those with C-level executives within its largest client base.

Tariq also spent eight years at Check Point as the sales director for Northern Europe, turning his territory into the company’s most profitable region and establishing Check Point’s very first channel program, which today numbers over 5,000 global partners. Most recently, he served as EMEA Channel Sales Managing Director for Infoblox, taking the automated network control provider from a primarily direct sales model to one that successfully leverages dozens of partners. During his tenure, the company also went through a successful IPO.
