General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT), a business unit of General Dynamics, has launched its Everest Zero Trust portfolio, a set of zero trust solutions intended to help the Department of War (DoW) and other government organizations implement zero trust capabilities while leveraging existing IT infrastructure.

The company said the portfolio addresses challenges facing federal agencies as the cyber threat landscape evolves and artificial intelligence changes the speed, scale and complexity of emerging threats. The DoW is prioritizing zero trust implementation to help protect IT systems and operational warfighting environments by verifying users and devices before granting access to sensitive data, assets and services.

According to GDIT, many DoW organizations have already invested in zero trust measures. However, existing industry solutions can require organizations to remove and replace IT infrastructure to protect their systems.

GDIT said its Everest Zero Trust portfolio is intended to provide an alternative by allowing government organizations to build on existing technology investments. The portfolio includes Clarity, Flex and Unified.

Clarity provides IT infrastructure assessments and establishes an implementation plan for delivering zero trust. Flex is a modular zero trust solution designed for government agencies that integrates with existing infrastructure and aligns with an agency's individual roadmap to address zero trust gaps while building on current investments. Unified is a full-stack zero trust solution intended for new IT systems and operational warfighting environments without existing zero trust infrastructure.

GDIT said its Everest Zero Trust solutions are the first and only solutions to successfully complete a government “red team” cyber assessment of an upgraded IT system. The assessment demonstrated the system's ability to withstand sophisticated cyberattacks, according to the company.

The company said it has deployed the solutions in more than 40 mission environments. Deployments include supporting more than one million Department of the Air Force users across 187 bases worldwide and providing cybersecurity services for the Army National Guard.

The Everest Zero Trust portfolio is part of GDIT’s broader Mission Solutions portfolio and aligns with the company’s Vision, Innovation and Acceleration (VIA) strategy, which prioritizes delivering secure, next-generation technologies at speed.
