Bradford Co., Penn., Considers Security System for Courthouse

Bradford County, Penn., commissioners are considering funding $120,000 for a security system at the Bradford County Courthouse.

In a Dec. 28 commissioner meeting, the commissioners considered controlling access by directing visitors to a single entrance and adding a X-ray machine and metal detector staffed by two sheriff's deputies, according to a report in The Daily & Sunday Review, a newspaper in Towanda, Penn.

According to the newspaper, employees at the courthouse are concerned that many visitors are "irate," and that one of the visitors recently brought an axe into the courthouse.
