Valcom showcased its emergency communication technologies at GSX 2026, held Sept. 14-16 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta. Among the solutions featured by the company was V-Guardian Alert, a wearable panic button designed to connect an initial request for help with a broader emergency communication and response workflow.

The system allows authorized employees to discreetly initiate an alert during an emergency or other situation requiring assistance. Beyond sending the initial notification, V-Guardian Alert can provide room-level indoor location awareness and outdoor GPS location capabilities, helping administrators, security personnel and responders determine where assistance is needed.

Valcom emphasizes that panic-button technology should be evaluated not simply by what happens when the button is pressed, but by what happens afterward. A connected emergency communication platform can distribute alerts to designated personnel and activate predefined communications across systems such as paging, visual messaging and mobile notifications. It can also integrate with complementary security and communication technologies.

Depending on configuration, V-Guardian Alert supports multiple alert levels for situations ranging from staff assistance to emergencies and can integrate with Valcom's existing paging and visual notification infrastructure. The solution also offers RapidSOS integration to help provide location information to participating emergency communication centers.

The company provides paging, intercom, mass notification and emergency communication technologies for markets including education, healthcare, government, industrial and commercial facilities.
