Plant to create as many as 1,000 jobs

LAS VEGAS --

As many as 1,000 jobs are expected to be created at a new wind turbine plant in Nevada.

The announcement of the new facility was made Friday. It is a partnership between China’s A-Power Energy and the U.S. Renewable Energy Group.

In addition to the 1,000 jobs at the plant, Nevada’s construction industry is expected to receive a boost once crews break ground on the 320-thousand square foot project.

Las Vegas will be one of the areas studied for the facility’s location, although it’s unknown when the decision will be made.
