VideoSphere Analytic Wins Award for Outstanding Product Innovation at Sicurezza 2008 Exhibition in Milan

Nov. 27, 2008

OTTAWA, Nov. 27 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ - March Networks(R) (TSX:MN), a leading provider of intelligent IP video and business analysis applications, announced today that its VideoSphere(TM) PTZ Auto Tracking analytic has won the Security & Safety Award for exceptional product innovation at the Sicurezza 2008 Exhibition, running November 25-28 in Milan, Italy .

"We are pleased to recognize March Networks with this prestigious award for security product innovation," said Professor Oliviero Tronconi , president of the show's selection jury. "What impressed us most about the VideoSphere analytic is its ability to extend the PTZ auto-tracking capability across integrated fixed and PTZ cameras in one, high performance system."

PTZ Auto Tracking is an advanced, behavioral analysis algorithm that enables security personnel at airport, critical infrastructure and other commercial/industrial facilities to assess and respond more quickly to potential threats. The analytic, part of VideoSphere Analytics software, triggers a PTZ camera to follow a moving object, or identify and zoom in on an unattended object, automatically via the surveillance system management.

A key innovation unique to VideoSphere enables organizations to configure a PTZ camera to accept analytic event inputs from as many as five fixed VideoSphere cameras to create an intelligent video surveillance network for efficient, interactive panoramic coverage. Each fixed camera can activate the PTZ auto-tracking functionality without compromising its own alarm configuration, adding further protection to the whole system.

"We are honored to receive this award, which reinforces our position as a leading provider of innovative IP video solutions designed to provide our customers with advanced operational and cost efficiencies," said Fabrizio Colciago, Managing Director, March Networks EMEA.

March Networks is demonstrating its VideoSphere Intelligent Video Management portfolio, including its patent-pending PTZ Auto Tracking analytic, at Sicurezza in Stand P21/R24, Pavilion 15, in the Nuova Fiera, Milan , until November 28 .
