Alan Gillmore, IV Named President of The Monitoring Association

As President, Gillmore will focus on advancing TMA’s mission to promote professionalism, innovation, and standards across the monitoring and security sectors.

The Monitoring Association (TMA) has announced that Alan Gillmore IV, President of Gillmore Security Systems, Inc., has been appointed as the association’s 38th President. Gillmore officially assumed the role following the conclusion of TMA’s 75th Anniversary Annual Meeting, held October 8 in Palm Springs, California.

A long-time volunteer and respected voice within TMA, Gillmore has held numerous leadership positions over the years, including Vice President from 2021 to 2024, Treasurer  from 2018 to 2021, and Board of Directors member, as well as Co-Chair of the Membership Committee. His work in advancing member engagement, innovation, and collaboration has left a lasting imprint on the association’s direction and programs.

“I am incredibly honored and excited to be chosen to lead TMA’s growth, innovation, and collaboration efforts over the next two years,” said Gillmore. “TMA is the industry leader in education, standards development, and thought leadership. I am eager to advance these areas while finding new avenues for growth and modernization. I look forward to working with the TMA Board and staff to continue our legacy of excellence and support our great industry, which has given us all so much.”

Outgoing TMA President Steve Butkovich commended Gillmore’s leadership and long-term dedication to the association.

“Alan’s deep understanding of our industry and his proven leadership within TMA make him the ideal person to guide our association into the future,” said Butkovich. “His strategic mindset and collaborative spirit will undoubtedly take TMA to new heights as we continue to evolve and serve our members in an ever-changing environment.”

As President, Gillmore will focus on advancing TMA’s mission to promote professionalism, innovation, and standards across the monitoring and security sectors. His priorities for the term include:

  • Growing and diversifying TMA’s membership across new vertical markets

  • Supporting and expanding the ASAP Service initiative

  • Strengthening collaboration with partner associations and allied organizations

  • Driving adoption of key industry standards, including AVS-01

  • Enhancing thought leadership and educational programs to help members adapt to a rapidly evolving marketplace

Gillmore succeeds Butkovich in the role and will serve a two-year term.
