Belfor comes aboard as a special advisor to the board of managers

CHICAGO, April 10, 2015 – SDI, a mission-critical systems integrator that delivers intelligent IT solutions to ensure client safety, security and revenue generation, announces the appointment of industry veteran Howard J. Belfor to the role of Special Advisor to its Board of Managers.

Belfor brings 35 years of security industry product, integration and services experience in the security control marketplace. As special advisor, Howard will work closely with the SDI Board and management team, contributing his working knowledge of the industry, emerging trends and market opportunities. “Howard possesses an incredible perspective on the industry, and will bring a wealth of insight to SDI,” states David Sullivan, SDI Chief Executive Officer.

Addressing the higher technical requirements of today’s advanced security systems, SDI offers a hybrid security and IT skill set that significantly reduces risks and optimizes performance when integrating security technology into enterprise environments. The firm’s IT engineers are adept in addressing typical CIO concerns about network utilization, data management and overall risk mitigation related to the deployment of logical and physical security systems such as PSIM, access control, and enterprise digital video surveillance. SDI’s client portfolio includes some of the nation’s largest airports, commercial real estate portfolios and national banks and financial services organizations. SDI is capitalized by private equity firm LLR Partners, which has more than $2 billion under management, to fund its continued growth.

Belfor, a Certified Protection Professional (CPP), is currently president of Belfor & Associates, LLC. Throughout his career, Howard has held senior leadership positions at ADT, SST, VASEC (Virginia Security & Automation) and Electronic Services International. In addition to his business experience, Howard has a 30-plus year association with ASIS International as a Faculty member, Council Vice President and Certification Committee member, and is a frequent speaker at seminars and educational sessions on topics associated with state of the art controls and their application.
