LAPEER, MICHIGAN — Cypress Integration Solutions of Lapeer, Michigan, has introduced an OSDP Cable Test Tool (OTT-2100-2) that tests cable before installing OSDP components.
The OSDP Cable Test Tool answers one of the most common questions about OSDP: Will OSDP work on this cable?
"This pair of handheld devices will drastically reduce confusion in the field," said Jon Uren, Cypress President and CEO. "Integrators will now have an easy way to verify the cable they just pulled was installed correctly or check if the cable that they have on-site can support OSDP."
Using the OTT-2100-2 eliminates the guesswork, allowing integrators to quote OSDP projects more accurately.
The cable test tool is a pair of compact units that connect to the reader cabling. Used together, the set simulates OSDP communication at different baud rates to determine packet loss. The tool can be used to conduct either quick tests or in-depth tests.
The OTT-2100-2 garnered interest in the Cypress booth at ISC West, where attendees viewed a preview of the OSDP Cable Test Tool. The OTT-2100-2 begins shipping this month.
