O.W.L. Launches GA7360LR Extended Mid-Range 360-Degree Radar System

O.W.L.’s GA7360LR provides 360-degree detection, tracking and target classification for ground and low-altitude airspace surveillance applications.
Observation Without Limits (O.W.L.) has announced the launch of its GA7360LR Extended Mid-Range 360-Degree Radar System, a 3D radar system designed for ground and low-altitude airspace surveillance applications.
The GA7360LR builds on O.W.L.’s original GA7360 radar model introduced in 2024. According to the company, the new system extends detection ranges while improving the accuracy and consistency of target tracking and the accuracy and reliability of target classification.
“Building on the success of the original GA7360 radar model introduced in 2024, the GA7360LR extends detection ranges, improves accuracy and consistency of target tracking, and enhances the accuracy and reliability of target classification in a single 360-degree radar,” said Adam Robinett, O.W.L. CEO. “This new system sets the industry standard for low-altitude surveillance radar capabilities at a commercial-grade price point.”
The GA7360LR provides automatic detection, tracking and target classification at a range of up to 7.5 km with a 360-degree horizontal field of view and a 45-degree vertical field of view. O.W.L. said multiple radar panels are not required, reducing the need for mounting, power and network infrastructure.
“The result is equivalent or better airspace surveillance performance than comparable radars for about half the cost,” Robinett added.
The system is designed as a long-range surveillance sensor for layered security solutions. Applications include drone situational awareness, counter-UAS systems with and without electronic and kinetic countermeasures, drone as first responder systems, bird detection systems and beyond-visual-line-of-sight and detect-and-avoid use cases.
The GA7360LR uses digital beamforming radar technology for all-weather detection and tracking of target types. Its target classification capabilities are designed to distinguish among humans, animals, vehicles, aircraft and drones. A 3D antenna measures target elevations to support the detection and classification of Group 1 and larger drones.
The radar can integrate with third-party systems including DFR drones and management systems, cameras, video AI, counter-UAS command-and-control systems, video management systems and kinetic and electronic countermeasures. It also features customizable alarm zones with automatic response triggers and wide-area coverage intended to minimize infrastructure costs.
The solid-state system has no moving parts and is backed by a full warranty. The GA7360LR uses Pulsed Doppler processing and operates in the S frequency band from 3.0 GHz to 3.3 GHz.
O.W.L. lists detection ranges of 7.5 km for a Cessna 172 aircraft and vehicles, 4 km for walkers and 3 km for a DJI Phantom IV drone. The system operates at temperatures from –20 degrees C to +60 degrees C.
