If you were luck enough to be the recipient of a gift card this past holiday season don't wait to spend it. With the economy in such a mess, retailers are closing their doors at an alarming rate and filing for bankruptcy. If you are the holder of a gift card of a business that has filed for bankruptcy - you have just joined a long list of unsecured creditors and getting your money is shaky at best.

If you are expecting a rebate, on say a computer you purchased, and the business sinks to the bottom of the well you can expect the rebate will not be fulfilled. Don't wait, send in for the rebate now.

If you're having trouble cashing in on your gift card or obtaining your rebate, contact your state's respective Attorney Generals office.
