March 7, 2005

The FBI on Friday announced up to a $20,000 reward for the arrest and conviction of any of the three individuals who robbed an armored carrier outside a Miami drugstore shortly before Christmas.

Two men robbed a Brinks truck parked outside of Walgreens, 6200 NW Seventh Ave., at 6:45 p.m. on Dec. 20. One of the assailants was acting as a shopper inside Walgreens and followed the Brinks employee outside, where he and another robber tried to rob the messenger.

After an exchange of gunfire in the parking lot, the robbers grabbed a money bag and fled in a gray 1991 Chrysler New Yorker, which was driven by a third man. The car, which had been stolen, was later found abandoned.
