Honeywell Technologies has named new leaders for its Process Technology and Building Automation businesses, with Billal Hammoud and Juan Picon set to take on their new roles Oct. 1.
Hammoud, currently president and CEO of Building Automation, will become president and CEO of Process Technology, a component of Honeywell Technologies’ Process Automation & Technology reportable business segment. He will succeed Ken West, who is leaving the company Aug. 31 to pursue an external opportunity.
Picon, currently president of Building Automation Americas, will succeed Hammoud as president and CEO of Building Automation.
Both executives will report to Vimal Kapur, chairman and CEO of Honeywell Technologies.
“Billal elevated Building Automation into one of our clearest examples of accelerated growth, disciplined transformation, customer-centered execution and new product innovation,” Kapur said.
Kapur cited Hammoud’s experience in strategy execution, operational performance and mergers and acquisitions, including the company’s $4.95 billion acquisition of Access Solutions.
“His deep experience in strategy execution, track record of driving operational rigor to deliver strong results and successful M&A integration ─ including our $4.95 billion acquisition of Access Solutions ─ makes him the ideal choice to lead Process Technology into its next phase of growth and profitability,” Kapur said.
Hammoud has led Building Automation since 2023. During his tenure, the business increased annual organic growth from 2% in 2023 to 8% in 2025, according to Honeywell Technologies. The company said Building Automation also recorded seven consecutive quarters of high-single-digit organic growth and margin expansion.
His tenure included an increased focus on higher-growth vertical markets, a regional operating structure designed to empower local teams and the introduction of new products including Honeywell Technologies Forge Connected Buildings.
Before leading Building Automation, Hammoud served as president and general manager of Smart Energy and Thermal Solutions for Honeywell Technologies Performance Materials and Technologies. He previously held senior leadership positions in Thermal Solutions and Combustion Controls and held leadership roles at ESAB, formerly part of Colfax.
Hammoud holds an MBA and a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Wayne State University.
Picon rejoined Honeywell Technologies in 2024 as president of its Fire Life Safety business and later became president of Building Automation Americas. In that role, Honeywell Technologies said he strengthened customer engagement across the region while increasing the business’ focus on higher-growth verticals.
Kapur said Picon created a regional structure in the Americas and shifted the business toward vertical markets including healthcare, hospitality and data centers. He also credited Picon with accelerating adoption of Honeywell Technologies Forge.
“Juan brings more than two decades of Honeywell Technologies experience combining measurable business impact with a clear commitment to our customers and culture,” Kapur said.
Before returning to Honeywell Technologies, Picon held executive leadership positions at Sensata Technologies, WESCO Distribution and General Cable. He previously spent more than 18 years at Honeywell Technologies in leadership roles across several business segments, including its automation and controls business.
Picon received the company’s Chairman’s Award in 2025, which Honeywell Technologies describes as its highest employee recognition for superior performance. He holds an MBA from Arizona State University, a master’s degree in European Union Law from the University of Carlos III of Madrid, a Diploma in Business from the Centro de Estudios de Comercio of Madrid and a law degree from the University Complutense of Madrid.
“Both Billal and Juan’s appointments demonstrate the depth and strength of our leadership bench across Honeywell Technologies,” Kapur said.
Kapur also thanked West for his leadership and contributions to Process Technology, saying the company wishes him success in his next endeavor.
