LEDUC, Alta. (CP) - A former Brinks employee is one of two men charged in the robbery of a CIBC branch last September.
Early in the morning of Sept. 30, video surveillance cameras inside the bank captured images of a person entering the bank wearing a mask, wig and coveralls.
The person came in after a delivery had been made by Brinks employees.
About $180,000 was discovered to be missing from a safe.
RCMP Corp. Steve Irwin said whoever entered the building had to have the combination and alarm codes.
The police investigation also tracked down a second person waiting in a vehicle outside the bank.
Johnathan Purych, 21, is charged with break, enter and theft over $5,000, possession of the proceeds of crime and wearing a disguise in the commission of an offence.
Vedran Taslidzic, 21, is charged with break, enter and theft over $5,000 and possession of the proceeds of crime.
Both are scheduled to appear Jan. 26 in Leduc provincial court.
