Students say fight was planned between rival gangs

INDIANAPOLIS -- Three students were arrested after Indianapolis police had to use stun guns to break up a fight at John Marshall Community High School on Friday.

The fight began just before lunch near the school's auditorium.

Students said there were rumors of a planned fight between rival gangs.

"They were supposed to fight today," said student Antenia Young. "After gym, they went back to the locker room, and the dude pulled a knife and threatened to stab everyone, tried to shank them."

When staff members and school police couldn't get the fight under control, Indianapolis officers visiting the building for an unrelated program stepped in.

Three students were shocked with stun guns and arrested, police said.

Officers increases police presence at the school for the remainder of the day.
