AlliedBarton Donates More Than $12,000 in Home Furnishings to Habitat for Humanity
KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa., June 27, 2006 – At the 2006 Office Building Show, hosted by the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) International, AlliedBarton Security Services donated over $12,000 worth of furniture to the Dallas, Texas area Habitat for Humanity, a non-profit organization that builds affordable housing for low-income families. Items of furniture donated include a full dining room set of a table, 4 chairs and buffet; a full living room set of a couch chair, coffee table and end tables; and a full family room set of a couch, love seat and coffee table. Additionally, AlliedBarton contributed 800 square feet of carpet and padding, as well as various other home accessories.
In addition to donating the home furnishings, AlliedBarton took a different approach to the traditional tradeshow booth that included a relaxation theme complete with espresso and cookie stations and places for booth visitors to relax and even hold brief meetings.
“This is a first for AlliedBarton,†said Mike Coleman, Vice President of Commercial Real Estate for AlliedBarton. “We wanted to do something different this year at BOMA and the relaxation station seemed like a great idea that would not only serve the visitors of the 2006 BOMA show, but also provide a family, or families, in the Dallas area with quality furnishings for their Habitat Home.â€
Due to innovative initiatives and proactive partnerships, such as these, AlliedBarton continues to be the only security Cornerstone Partner—an ongoing relationship with BOMA.
