New Voice Recording Function Introduced on Motorola Radios
SCHAUMBURG, Ill. -- Motorola, Inc. and NICE Systems announce a critical new solution for ASTRO 25 Trunked Radio Systems. This logging solution provides digital voice and data recording of transmissions enabling public safety and governmental agencies to record and store the complete history of an incident as it is happening.
"Together, Motorola and NICE Systems offer tremendous value to agencies that need to record both radio and telephone transmissions to more accurately re-create and evaluate incidents as they occur," said Jim Connor, director of Infrastructure Operations, Motorola. "It will free up critical resources and eliminate the need for agencies to purchase expensive hardware."
Through a collaborative effort, NICE has created a voice recording for Motorola's ASTRO 25 Trunked Radio Systems that will enable mission critical agencies to search for and replay telephone calls and radio transmissions, including radio and talkgroup identification and aliases. NICE is using one of the most powerful replay applications on the market to graphically tie audio and data together, enabling customers to replay the entire event.
"We recognize that reconstructing an event on demand accurately and chronologically is critical to resolving legal issues and training personnel," said Don Hall, director of Business Development, NICE Government Solutions. "This solution was designed to increase the effectiveness of public safety agencies in handling questions about an incident or the official handling of it."
In January 2004, Motorola announced its agreement with NICE Systems to provide record and replay solutions and to develop enhanced recording applications for Motorola's trunked radio communications systems.
"This partnership combines Motorola's communications expertise and market leadership with NICE Systems' recording experience and technology," said Hall. "We will continue to collaborate on recording solutions and integrated products that will enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of our public safety customers."
