Council will work with Mo. employers to help reservists and national guardsman find employment

KANSAS CITY, MO--(Marketwire - Jun 18, 2012) - AlliedBarton Security Services' Jerold Ramos, manager, talent acquisition, has joined the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve's Kansas City, MO, area Employer Advisory Council. The Council will work with Missouri employers, such as AlliedBarton, to help Missouri Reservists and National Guardsmen, their families and caregivers, find employment opportunities.

The Employer Advisory Council's goal is to provide National Guard and Reserve members and their spouses with training, preparation and access to the civilian job market. The hope is that the advisory council's experience will be modeled nationwide to assist other military families.

AlliedBarton, AlliedBarton.com/HireOurHeroes, is committed to hiring veterans, reservists, their families and caregivers, and promoting this important hiring practice. This company-wide military hiring program, Hire Our Heroes(SM), is an essential part of AlliedBarton's recruiting strategy.

"It is an honor to be involved with the ESGR and the Employer Advisory Council as their mission integrates well with AlliedBarton's recruiting strategy," said Ramos. "The latest unemployment data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics shows military veterans may now have a better chance of finding employment than non-veterans. This can be attributed to the fact that organizations are more committed than ever to hiring America's heroes and see the benefits and value that the men and women of our armed forces have to the civilian workforce."

The Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve is a Department of Defense agency established in 1972. The mission of ESGR is to gain and maintain employer support for Guard and Reserve service by recognizing outstanding support, increasing awareness of the law, and resolving conflicts through informal mediation. ESGR volunteers provide free education, consultation, and, if necessary, mediation for employers of Guard and Reserve employees. Paramount to ESGR's mission is encouraging employment of service members who bring integrity, global perspective and proven leadership to the civilian workforce.
