AXIS P1486-LE Global Shutter Camera
Using global shutter technology with a constant or pulsing built-in IR light, AXIS P1486-LE captures clear, low-distortion images of fast-moving objects, even in complete darkness.
Built on ARTPEC-9 and featuring a light-sensitive 11.8” sensor, it delivers high-quality, forensically usable imagery at 3 MP up to 60 fps, or up to 270 fps at lower resolutions. Scene profiles help optimize image quality by enabling users to select settings that align with specific environmental conditions. In addition, sync output allows connection to a third-party strobing illuminator when additional lighting is required.
This robust, impact-resistant camera is designed for demanding outdoor environments and features a 10-40 mm telephoto lens with a 44°–11° horizontal field of view for long-range monitoring.
Electronic image stabilization helps maintain image quality in environments subject to vibrations. The device is engineered to operate in temperatures ranging from -40°C to 60°C (-40°F to 140°F) and withstand winds up to 60 m/s (134 mph). To support deployment in remote and critical locations, it offers flexible installation and power options, including DC and PoE power redundancy.
In addition, Axis Edge Vault, a hardware-based cybersecurity platform, helps protect the device and provides FIPS 140-3 Level 3 certified secure key storage and operations.
AXIS Live Privacy Shield provides AI-based dynamic masking to balance situational awareness with privacy considerations, while AXIS Image Health Analytics alerts users when an image is obstructed, degraded, underexposed, or redirected. Support for Axis Zipstream with AV1, H.265, and H.264 helps optimize bandwidth and storage usage while maintaining image quality.
This solution is particularly valuable in environments where reliable capture of high-speed events is critical, including urban traffic monitoring and public safety operations. For transportation authorities and law enforcement agencies, the ability to accurately capture and analyze vehicle movements can enhance traffic management, support incident investigations, and contribute to safer, more efficient road networks.
