Security and video-analytics specialist Keenfinity Group has unveiled its latest software module, IVA Pro License Plate Recognition (LPR), designed to capture license-plate data across a broad set of environments and convert that data into actionable metadata.

According to the company, the module is suitable for city roads, toll zones, parking lots and campuses.

Designed for real-time vehicle and plate analytics, IVA Pro LPR identifies license plates and extracts information including time-stamp, plate number, issuing country and state, and vehicle type (such as car, truck, bus or motorcycle).

The software offers several enhanced capabilities:

  • Edge list management supporting up to 5000 entries on-camera, enabling faster access-control without needing a central database.
  • Protocol integration via MQTT and Webhook, facilitating license-plate data sharing with parking systems, smart-city dashboards and crime-centers in real time.
  • Extended detection range with an “IVA-optimized mode” that boosts detection range by up to 50%.
  • Expanded international coverage: in addition to North America and Europe the software now also supports Central and South America (CASA), and new beta regions including Australia, Malaysia, Morocco and South Africa (users are advised to check the complete list of supported countries and states).

Use cases cited by Keenfinity include:

  • Seamless access control for small- and medium-sized parking areas, where access lists can be managed on the camera itself to support employee parking, visitor access or VIP alerts, with barrier control via the camera’s relay output.
  • Real-time license plate data sharing for smart-city deployments, enabling municipalities to transmit camera-captured plate data to traffic control centres and law-enforcement systems.
  • Flexible access management for educational campuses, allowing schools and universities to update access lists directly on the camera and reduce infrastructure overhead.
  • Fleet access control at industrial and logistics sites, integrating the camera’s output with fleet-management platforms via MQTT or Webhook protocols for automated workflows and compliance tracking.
  • Forensic vehicle search across video-management platforms such as BVMS, Milestone or Genetec, using the captured license-plate metadata to accelerate investigations and improve situational awareness.

According to Keenfinity the combined benefits of edge-based list management, open-protocol integration and vehicle-analytics metadata are expected to deliver lower infrastructure costs, faster deployment, real-time interoperability and improved traffic-flow intelligence.
