Ring Expands Doorbell Lineup With First Battery-Powered 2K and 4K Models

Ring’s new lineup of battery-powered 2K and 4K doorbells expands installation flexibility while delivering higher-resolution front-door monitoring.
Ring has introduced its first battery-powered doorbells offering 2K and 4K video, expanding its lineup with higher-resolution options designed for flexible installation without the need for hardwiring. The new devices start at $99.99 and are available for pre-order, with each model including a free trial of Ring AI Pro.
The launch is led by the Battery Doorbell Pro (2nd Gen), described as the company’s most advanced battery-powered doorbell to date. The device features Retinal 4K video and up to 10x Enhanced Zoom, designed to capture front-door activity, packages, and other details with increased clarity in both day and night conditions. Ring said a redesigned internal architecture allows the device to maintain performance while supporting high-resolution video and advanced capabilities, enabling installation in a wider range of locations without wiring.
Alongside the 4K model, Ring introduced three new Retinal 2K doorbells aimed at providing flexibility across different price points and installation needs. The Battery Doorbell Plus (2nd Gen) includes a Quick Release Battery Pack for easier recharging while delivering 2K video. The Battery Doorbell (2nd Gen) offers a streamlined rechargeable design with 2K video and up to 6x Enhanced Zoom. For homes with existing wiring, the Wired Doorbell (2nd Gen) delivers Retinal 2K video in a hardwired configuration.
Across the new lineup, features include up to 6x Enhanced Zoom, Motion Detection, Night Vision, and real-time alerts through the Ring app. The expanded portfolio is intended to provide customers with more options for higher-resolution video across both battery-powered and wired installations.
Ring is also rolling out new solar accessories to extend battery life and increase installation flexibility. The Ring Solar Charger integrates directly into the mounting design, allowing the doorbell to be installed on top of the charger. The Ring Solar Panel is designed to extend the life of Quick Release Battery Packs by delivering additional power, reducing the need for manual recharging. It offers flexible installation options, including roof mounting and adjustable angles for improved solar exposure.
The included trial of Ring AI Pro introduces additional functionality, including Video Descriptions that summarize motion activity in plain language and Video Search that allows users to find specific moments using keywords such as “person,” “package,” or “car.” The subscription also provides up to 180 days of video history and Extended Live View for longer real-time monitoring sessions. According to the company, these features are intended to provide greater visibility into activity and allow users to review events more efficiently.
