Antaira Releases Firmware Update to Power High-Wattage PoE++ Devices in Solar Security Deployments

Antaira’s LMP-1204G-SFP-bt-24-T switch enables high-power PoE++ delivery for solar-powered security trailer deployments.
Antaira Technologies has announced the availability of its V6.2 firmware for the LMP-1204G-SFP-bt-24-T, a 12-port Gigabit PoE++ managed Ethernet switch, introducing enhanced power capabilities tailored for solar-powered security trailer deployments.
The update enables the switch to support high-power IP cameras up to 100W when operating within the maximum PoE power budget defined by the input voltage. This capability addresses demand from security trailer manufacturers and system integrators seeking to deliver high-wattage PoE++ directly from 24VDC solar input without requiring voltage conversion or external power injectors.
According to Antaira, the updated firmware allows the switch to meet the power requirements of modern security deployments while maintaining performance in extreme environments. The device operates across a temperature range of -40°C to 75°C and includes network management features along with Auto-Reboot functionality for connected PoE devices in mission-critical applications.
Growing Demand for Mobile Security Solutions
The announcement comes as mobile solar-powered security trailers continue to gain traction across the physical security market. The global mobile surveillance tower market reached $1.3 billion in 2024, with North America accounting for nearly 40% of that total, and is projected to grow at a 9.7% annual rate through 2034. The broader mobile video surveillance market is also expected to surpass $4 billion by 2030, driven by construction activity, increased theft and vandalism at remote sites, infrastructure protection requirements, and expanding use of AI-powered analytics.
Addressing Solar Power Constraints
Security trailers rely on solar-generated DC power, typically at 24VDC, creating challenges for integrating network switches capable of powering multiple connected devices. With the V6.2 firmware, the LMP-1204G-SFP-bt-24-T delivers a total PoE budget of 180W at 24VDC input, with up to 100W available per port within the overall power budget.
This enables a single switch to support a range of high-power devices including IP PTZ cameras with integrated heaters, multi-spectrum sensors, AI edge computing systems, LED illuminators, radar modules, and two-way audio or deterrence systems, all operating from solar power in rugged environments.
Built for Harsh Environments
The LMP-1204G-SFP-bt-24-T features four Gigabit Ethernet ports supporting IEEE 802.3bt PoE++, four additional Gigabit ports with IEEE 802.3af/at support, and four dual-rate SFP slots for fiber connectivity. Designed for industrial use, the switch supports DIN-rail or shelf mounting and provides high EFT and ESD protection for deployment in challenging outdoor conditions.
Availability and Compliance
Antaira noted that the switch is available with Build America, Buy America Act (BABA) compliant options, meeting the requirement for at least 55% of components to be sourced and manufactured in the United States, with final assembly in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The LMP-1204G-SFP-bt-24-T with V6.2 firmware is available now through Antaira’s authorized distribution partners.
