Resorts World Las Vegas Deploys Milestone VMS Across 5,800 Cameras
Resorts World Las Vegas is using Milestone Systems’ XProtect video management software (VMS) to connect approximately 5,800 cameras with analytics and other specialized security technologies across the 88-acre property.
The Las Vegas Strip resort is using the open-platform system to support security operations, fraud investigations, gaming compliance and operational analytics.
Opened in 2021, the $4.3 billion Resorts World Las Vegas includes more than 3,500 guest rooms and suites, a 117,000-square-foot casino floor, entertainment venues, retail spaces, restaurants and nightlife venues.
Managing security across the property requires a video platform capable of supporting thousands of cameras as well as multiple applications used by surveillance and operations teams.
Milestone XProtect serves as the backbone of that environment, connecting cameras and technologies used for gaming surveillance, fraud detection, forensic investigations, business intelligence and operational analytics.
“We rely on the system every day to investigate fraud, theft, and any activity that could result in a loss. It gives us the visibility we need to quickly understand what happened and take action,” said Lindsay Dever, CFE, assistant director of fraud and nightclub surveillance at Resorts World Las Vegas.
The security environment includes camera technologies from Axis Communications, Bosch and Hanwha Vision.
Additional integrated technologies include BriefCam for forensic video review, people counting and heat mapping. Oosto provides facial recognition capabilities while Aeyesky supports card-counting and cheating detection. AXIS Case Insight is used to analyze foot traffic and customer behavior.
According to Milestone, the open architecture allows Resorts World to integrate the technologies while giving operators a consistent interface for accessing the different capabilities.
“Large, dynamic environments like Resorts World Las Vegas require technology that can adapt to multiple operational needs without adding complexity,” said Tim Palmquist, Vice President, Americas at Milestone Systems. “An open platform approach allows this Las Vegas casino resort to bring together best-of-breed technologies into a single ecosystem, enabling teams to improve investigations, support regulatory requirements, and generate operational insights that extend well beyond traditional security.”
The system is also being used during time-sensitive investigations. Resorts World said the technology has helped teams respond to incidents more quickly, conduct investigations more efficiently and support law enforcement.
Beyond traditional surveillance applications, Resorts World is using video information to support operational decision-making across the property.
The resort plans to expand those capabilities through additional AI-driven tools, including enhanced people counting, behavioral analytics and technology designed to better track guest movement.
Future enhancements are also expected to focus on streamlining operator workflows and supporting a more proactive approach to investigations.
