Squire Expands U.S. Distribution Through IML Security Supply
Squire Locks USA has entered into a distribution partnership with IML Security Supply, expanding access to its commercial padlock products across the Western and Central United States.
The relationship developed from conversations at SHDA 2026, where IML Vice President of Sales Jon Skinner and his team were introduced to Squire’s commercial padlock portfolio. According to the companies, several products were identified as potential additions to IML’s offerings for locksmith and security customers.
“We are happy to work with such a historic company and to be a part of Squire’s strategy in the United States,” Skinner said. “I’m looking forward to introducing the Squire line to our customers and collaborating with their team to develop the market.”
Founded in Salt Lake City in 1966 as Intermountain Lock & Supply Co., IML is marking its 60th anniversary in 2026. The wholesale security distributor operates an expanding branch network serving locksmith and security professionals across much of the United States. Its product portfolio includes locksmith supplies, door hardware, access control, video and related security technologies.
Squire’s family lock-making history dates to 1780 in England.
“IML is a critical distributor partner we have been looking for as we build Squire across North America,” said Jerry Burhans, president of Channel Championz, Squire’s North American commercial representative. “They have the reach, the inventory and the technical credibility, but they also know how to introduce a new line and get it in front of customers. Our job is to match that commitment with training, branch support activity and feet on the street so this becomes much more than simply putting another line on a shelf.”
Field support for the partnership will be led by Jackson Burhans, Squire’s new National Account Manager. He has begun working with IML’s Kansas City team and introducing Squire products to customers in the market.
His responsibilities will include supporting branch activity, customer outreach, product education and regional events as the program expands.
“We’re already seeing good engagement in Kansas City,” Jackson Burhans said. “My focus is to keep that momentum going, helping IML’s branches get the products in front of the right customers and supporting the opportunities that can turn interest into business.”
IML conducts regional training programs and IML Security Expos that provide manufacturers with opportunities to introduce products, educate locksmiths and work with IML sales personnel.
Squire’s commercial portfolio includes mechanical keyed and resettable combination padlocks designed for professional, industrial and critical infrastructure applications. Its Stronghold and Vulcan product families include features such as hardened boron alloy shackles, corrosion-resistant designs, multiple keying options and independently tested high-security models.
The companies are coordinating the initial product mix, product information and launch support for the introduction of Squire products throughout the IML organization.
“For Squire, building distribution is only part of the job,” Jerry Burhans said. “We also have to create demand and give locksmiths a reason to take a closer look at the products. IML gives us an outstanding platform to do that, and Jackson gives us someone who can stay connected with their people and customers in the field.”
The partnership is part of Squire’s distributor-focused expansion strategy in North America. Channel Championz and Squire will support market development, product education and end-user demand while IML provides product access, expertise and fulfillment to professional customers.
