Dormakaba to Acquire Hospitality Technology Provider Alliants
Dormakaba has signed a binding agreement to acquire Alliants Limited, a hospitality technology provider whose guest experience platform supports more than 100,000 hotel rooms worldwide.
The acquisition would expand dormakaba’s hospitality portfolio beyond physical access control by combining room access with digital guest engagement technology. The companies said the approach is intended to support the guest journey while allowing hotels to continue working with other technology manufacturers and software providers.
Founded in 2009 in Southampton, United Kingdom, Alliants provides guest experience software and managed services designed to support hotel guests before arrival, during their stay and afterward. Its capabilities include concierge services, contactless check-in, mobile keys, payments, messaging and agentic AI.
The company employs more than 100 people and operates globally. Alliants has delivered digital hotel room keys for Apple Wallet and Google Wallet, and its digital hotel key technology was recognized by TIME magazine as one of its best inventions of 2025.
Dormakaba said combining the Alliants platform with its existing portfolio and global operations would give hotels the option of using an end-to-end solution spanning digital guest engagement, access and hotel operations.
Both companies will remain interoperable with other providers across the hotel technology stack, according to the announcement. That would allow hotel operators to continue selecting other manufacturers and software partners rather than requiring them to adopt a single technology ecosystem.
“Hotel owners and operators increasingly view access and guest experience as part of the same strategy,” dormakaba CEO Till Reuter said. “Alliants adds proven technology and deep hospitality expertise that help us better serve hotels today and as their needs evolve.”
Reuter said hospitality is a key growth vertical for dormakaba and described the acquisition as part of the company’s continued investment in the sector globally.
Alliants CEO and founder Tristan Gadsby similarly pointed to the increasing connection between access technology and the broader digital hotel experience.
“Access and guest experience stopped being separate problems some time ago; the industry's tooling just hasn't caught up,” Gadsby said. “Alliants brings the digital guest journey, and dormakaba brings a proven track record in access and a presence in more than 130 countries.”
Gadsby said the combination is intended to provide hotels with a more unified approach without requiring them to abandon existing technology partners.
Financial terms and other details of the transaction were not disclosed. The agreement was signed Sept. 15, and dormakaba expects the transaction to close following regulatory approval, which is anticipated before the end of 2026.
