MiCOS is returning as a dedicated access control company under Keenfinity Group, reviving the name associated with a history spanning five decades of access control technology.

Founded in 1979, MiCOS established itself as a pioneer in access control solutions before becoming part of Bosch in 2004. Over the next two decades, the company’s technology formed the foundation of Bosch access control solutions, which were recognized for their reliability, flexibility and performance.

Now part of Keenfinity Group, the access control business is returning to its original MiCOS name and will focus exclusively on access control while maintaining the expertise, technology and quality standards customers have trusted over the years.

“Customers around the world have trusted our access control technology for decades. While many customers know our solutions through the Bosch name, the engineering expertise behind those solutions has its roots in MiCOS,” said Gregor Schlechtriem, CEO of MiCOS. “Returning to our original identity allows us to build on that heritage while sharpening our focus on the future of resilient access control.”

According to the company, the return of the MiCOS name reflects its commitment to combining its heritage with the agility and focus of a specialized access control organization. MiCOS said its dedicated focus on access control positions the company to continue delivering solutions to customers and partners worldwide.

MiCOS will officially present its renewed company identity and access control strategy at Security Essen 2026, taking place Sept. 22-25. Visitors can meet the MiCOS team at booth 5B15.1 to learn more about the company’s heritage, technology portfolio and future plans.
