Sine by Honeywell has launched Advanced ID Check for its SinePoint Pro iPad kiosks, adding automated identity verification to the enterprise visitor check-in process.

The feature integrates identity verification into check-in by validating government-issued identification and creating compliance records as visitors arrive. Sine said the process is designed to replace manual document checks or separate verification workflows.

“Organizations with serious compliance obligations can’t afford gaps between who they think is on site and who actually is. Advanced ID Check helps close that gap automatically, at the moment it matters — giving teams the audit trail they need without slowing anyone down,” said Chuck O’Leary, general manager of Sine by Honeywell.

During check-in, visitors scan a government-issued ID, including a passport, driver’s license or national ID card, using a SinePoint Pro iPad kiosk. Sine said the platform checks document authenticity indicators, verifies expiration status and compares the document photo with a captured image of the visitor. Verification results are then attached to the visitor pass and activity feed.

The company said the process provides organizations with standardized identity verification and an audit trail across multiple sites.

Each identity check also creates a timestamped compliance record during the check-in process, according to Sine. The company said configurable site settings allow organizations to establish verification requirements based on visitor type, including stricter controls for contractors or other higher-risk categories.

Advanced ID Check can flag discrepancies or hold check-ins for manual approval based on a site’s risk profile. Sine said the platform stores only essential data fields and does not retain document images, document numbers or dates of birth.

“This removes a significant operational burden - reducing manual document checks, reducing the risk of human error, and having the ability to apply controls to specific visitor types adds an important layer of verification for sites and the people on them,” O’Leary said.

Sine said Advanced ID Check is intended for enterprise environments where identity verification supports compliance or safety requirements, including manufacturing, logistics, healthcare, construction, critical infrastructure and facilities with regulated access requirements.

According to the company, the technology includes document authentication that validates security features, text consistency and image quality to assess whether an identification document appears genuine before check-in is approved. The platform also compares the document photo with the visitor’s captured image and automatically flags expired documents before check-in proceeds.

Sine said the identity verification technology is powered by Regula Forensics, which it described as an identity verification platform used by organizations across 250 countries and territories, including border control authorities in certain countries.
