Epson and STOPware have announced a partnership aimed at improving visitor badge printing and identification through the integration of Epson’s ColorWorks on-demand color label printing technology with STOPware’s PassagePoint visitor management platform.

Color Printing Adds Visual Security Cues

The integration enables organizations to produce full-color visitor badges on demand at sign-in locations. Using ColorWorks printers, STOPware customers can create photo-ready badges featuring visitor photos, color-coded access levels, department or zone identifiers, logos and other branding elements as well as QR codes or barcodes for digital check-in and check-out tracking.

According to the companies, using color can help staff quickly differentiate between visitors, contractors, vendors and temporary staff. Distinct badge colors can also be associated with departments or building zones, allowing frontline personnel to visually confirm a visitor’s authorized location.

The badges can include full-color photos to help reduce the risk of badge cloning or unauthorized reuse. Logos and brand colors can also help authenticate badges while QR codes and barcodes support scanning at checkpoints and integration with access control systems.

On-Demand Printing Supports Operations

The partnership integrates Epson ColorWorks CW-C4000 and CW-C6000 printers with STOPware’s visitor management software. The companies said the integration allows organizations to produce badges in real time without maintaining separate printer inventories or manually replacing badge stock.

On-demand printing also ensures badges contain current visit information and reflect an organization’s security policies. The approach eliminates the need for pre-printed badge inventories and is designed to reduce bottlenecks at visitor sign-in locations.
