Z-Wave-enabled system offers Web-based user controls for security and automation monitoring

CES, Las Vegas, NV (January 2007) — iControl Networks, Inc., a leading provider of mass-market Web-based solutions to remotely monitor and control your home and business, today announced that it has launched version 2.0 of its award-winning product and service. The enhanced iControl home monitoring solution is Z-Wave-enabled, giving consumers access to a one-of-a-kind service that works on top of existing, off-the-shelf devices that can be purchased at most home improvement stores. The new product and service offers an even more intuitive Web portal user interface, a Web-based wizard for easier set-up, an advanced mobile portal and an improved gateway design.

iControl gives home and business owners an entirely new way to see, know, and respond remotely to what matters most to them – family, home and business. The solution is ideal for families with children, caregivers to seniors, small business owners and people with second homes or properties. The newest version, with off-the-shelf Z-Wave enabled devices, makes it even easier for consumers to stay in charge of their home, family and business while they’re away.

"As consumers seek more proactive ways of enhancing peace-of-mind, safety, and environmental diagnostics at home, the market for home monitoring solutions will grow from its infancy today," said Tricia Parks, CEO of Parks Associates. "From estimated end-user revenues of $65 million to $70 million in 2006, we project adoption of self-monitoring systems and services to more than triple over the next three-to-four years as communication service providers bundle these offerings with their other services. iControl Networks is an innovator in this space; with its consumer-friendly technology, trials with major service providers and attention to strategic partnerships, iControl’s learned market knowledge will help it lead as the market emerges."

In addition to offering the product and service via its Web site, iControl is currently trialing the new solution with major service providers, including utilities, Internet service providers, telcos, cable companies, MSO’s and wireless carriers.

With iControl, every user has a personal portal they can access via a Web browser, PDA or cell phone to configure and manage their iControl service from anywhere, at anytime. Through off-the-shelf wireless cameras, sensors, light modules and other devices placed around a home or business, users can get information about alarms, view or take pictures, and control and manage devices. Furthermore, iControl proactively delivers real-time information to its users via email or text messages when devices are triggered, rather than forcing them to track it down.

"Our new product and service puts iControl on the leading edge of the remote home monitoring market. By pairing mass-market availability and ease-of-use with increasing consumer demand, we continue to enhance and evolve the home monitoring market," said Reza Raji, president and CEO of iControl Networks. "iControl is offering the most innovative and easiest to use home monitoring solution on the market today."

iControl offers starter kits, which include a range of wireless accessories including network (IP) cameras, door and window sensors, lamp modules, thermostats, smoke detectors, water and freeze sensors, and service for a monthly fee of $14.95.
