NAPCO Security Technologies, Inc. has released the GEM-XK5 Slimline Keypad, a new option for Gemini security systems that combines a contemporary design with installation flexibility and compatibility with existing Gemini control panels.

Measuring less than 3/4 inch deep, the GEM-XK5 features a bright aqua 32-character backlit display, soft-touch oval keys and dedicated Stay/Away buttons for one-touch arming. Additional features include customizable alphanumeric zone descriptors, LED indicators for system status and carbon monoxide alarms and a wireless signal-strength display using a 1-to-10 scale for Gemini wireless devices.

The keypad also incorporates a built-in four-zone expansion module, eliminating the need for a separate module in applicable installations. Its mounting options accommodate single-gang, double-gang and 4-by-4-inch electrical boxes. Terminal-strip and quick-connect harness connections provide additional installation flexibility.

Compatibility With Existing Gemini Systems

The GEM-XK5 is compatible with Gemini control panels ranging from the GEM-P816 through the GEM-X255. Its backward compatibility allows security dealers to upgrade existing installations with a modern keypad without replacing the control panel, potentially saving installation time and costs.

For applications requiring integrated wireless capabilities, NAPCO offers the GEM-XK5-RF, which features a built-in RF receiver supporting up to 255 wireless points, depending on the Gemini control panel.

NAPCO also offers the GEM-XR5 and GEM-XR5-RF models, which feature traditional RP1-style keys for customers who prefer a classic keypad design.

The GEM-XK5 is ETL Listed to UL 985, UL 1023 and UL 2610 standards and comes with a 36-month limited warranty.

NAPCO said the GEM-XK5 Slimline Keypad is available now for dealers and integrators working on new Gemini installations and existing system upgrades.
